I have had a number of candidates reach out asking for support in finding the contextual information sheet due tomorrow. I’m sorry I didn’t send directions before, I have known, the NBC website can be a bit complicated to navigate! So here you are: Go to www.boardcertifiedteachers.org Click on “Full Overview” In the text there is a highlighted link that reads “25 certificate areas”, click on that Scroll down to where it says “Standards and Instructions For First-time and Returning Candidates” in the drop down menu where it says “discipline” choose your certificate, then a new drop down menu will appear and you choose your developmental level. i.e. If you are an MC Generalist, choose “Generalist” in discipline and then choose “Middle Childhood (Ages 7-12)” for your developmental level Phew, lots of steps I know!! Then there will be a new section populated below that you can click on Components, we are working on 2, click on “Component 2” and a new dialog box will open with all the form necessary (this is the same process for each component), you will see in there, a Word version of the Contextual Information Sheet. - Do not delete anything from the sheet, type inside the brackets. There isn’t a lot of space so be concise!!
Or a direct link to the Certificates page is below!! http://www.nbpts.org/national-board-certification/candidate-center/first-time-and-returning-candidate-resources/ Also, don’t forget to bring your yellow bibles!! You will need your resources! See you all tomorrow Morning! |

Just plug in you current scores to the green part of the Excel document and then you can mess with the categories you haven't taken yet (or are considering retaking) to see how things work out mathematically.
